We’re on a mission to bring efficient cooling and heating to every home.

As homeowners and neighbors in San Francisco's Bernal Heights, we'd done most of the hard work of electrifying our homes — solar, batteries, induction ranges. Heat pumps were the last piece, and somehow the hardest. The quotes were staggering. The installations took days. The outdoor units were bigger than we expected.

Mary-Ann came from building AirPods. She took something tangled and complicated and turned it into a product people love. Brad designed the Square point-of-sale system, bringing simplicity to a category that had made checkout feel like a chore. We knew what it would take to make something complicated feel simple and elegant.

So we redesigned the heat pump around the installation. We iterated until we had a solution that is installed in under an hour, runs on a standard outlet, and integrates into your home as a modern artifact. Merino Mono is already in our homes. Now we're bringing it to yours.
